Everything You Need to Know about BIBLIO's Shipping
BIBLIO booksellers are located all over the world, so shipping methods can vary quite a bit. Here are some of the most common questions about our shipping procedures.
How Long Does Shipping Take?
Because BIBLIO is a marketplace that works with thousands of booksellers worldwide, actual shipping times will vary depending on the location of the bookseller you are ordering from and the shipping method you select.
Each bookshop provides its own estimated shipping times and associated costs based on location. To see a shipping estimate for an individual bookseller, click on the "Shipping rates & speed" link on a book's detailed listing page. After selecting the shipping destination, you will be shown shipping prices and estimated delivery times for that bookseller.
You can also use the shipping estimator in your shopping cart just before checking out to see costs and delivery times for books in your order based on the shipping method (Standard or Expedited) that you choose.
After placing your order, you will also be sent an automated order confirmation email providing full details of your order, including the shipping costs and estimated arrival dates, as well as contact information for the bookseller(s) and BIBLIO customer support.
How Much Does Shipping Cost?
Each bookshop that lists on Biblio has its own terms of sale and determines its own shipping rates. Sellers make use of several shipping methods including USPS, UPS, DHL, as well as many other services for international delivery.
Shipping costs will vary depending on:
- The location that the book is shipping from
- The method of shipping used by that bookseller
- The number of books you are ordering
- The number of different booksellers that you are ordering from
To get an estimate on shipping costs and delivery times for a specific book, click on the link that says "More Shipping Options" under the book price on the book detail page. You will also be provided with shipping options in the checkout process where you will see the rates and estimated arrival times for Standard and Expedited shipping.
Please note, shipping charges may vary from the quoted rates in situations where the book is particularly large or is a multiple volume set. If this is the case, the bookseller will contact you to make appropriate arrangements.
How can I save money on shipping charges?
TIP: If you see a high shipping rate, it's likely that you're ordering from a seller who's not in your country. You'll see a flag by each seller's name that indicates where they're shipping from!
To save on shipping costs, try to order multiple books from one bookseller in the same shipment, rather than purchasing them individually from different booksellers. Most of our booksellers offer discounted shipping on additional books in the same shipment - here's an example:
While the vast majority of booksellers on Biblio do offer discounted shipping on additional books in the same shipment, there are a few who do not. To find out, click on the link that says "shipping rates" on the page where your book is listed to see what that bookseller charges.
