How are orders automatically included or excluded from Asendia and DHL programs?

The Asendia and DHL international shipping programs have specific limitations and do not replace all international shipping. Your shipping matrix rates apply as usual for orders that are not included automatically during checkout.

    1. Program Selection:
      • international shipping program inclusion is determined automatically during checkout
      • DHL and Asendia are not visible to customers as shipping options, this will happen "behind the scenes".
    2. Asendia Consolidated Program Criteria:
      • Seller ships from the US to non-US address
      • Customer selects Standard shipping
      • Book price is $250 or less (in USD or USD equivalent after currency conversion)
    3. DHL Program Criteria:
      • Seller ships from the US to non-US address
      • Customer selects Expedited shipping
      • Book price is $750 or less (in USD or USD equivalent after currency conversion)
    4. Exceptions:
      • Sellers who have opted out of one or both programs altogether, or have opted a specific order out of one of those programs for any reason. We can't always determine in checkout if the package will weigh 4 lbs or less, or it will exceed the package weight and dimension limitations of DHL. If you receive an order that does not qualify for size or weight reasons, the order should be opted out when you process it, and you'll then see the option to request additional postage
      • Orders where the customer chooses Standard shipping and the seller has a lower shipping matrix rate than Asendia. Some orders are automatically opted out of Asendia if your shipping matrix rates are lower than the Asendia rate would be. You can raise your Standard international rates to reflect your actual cost to ship to those zones. The Asendia rate will almost always be lower, so more of your international orders would be included in that program.
      • The same does NOT apply to the DHL program. There is no automatic opt-out for DHL based on matrix rates
    5. Seller Responsibilities:
      • Always be prepared to ship directly to customers regardless of program inclusion
      • Provide necessary tax ID information where applicable and correctly filled customs forms
      • Request additional postage for direct shipment if needed, after you opt any order out of Asendia or DHL for any reason

Please note that some orders may be automatically excluded from these programs due to weight and size limitations, if we are able to determine in checkout that the item won't qualify for that method of shipping. Contact booksellersupport@biblio.com if you want to make changes to your upload data that will help ensure that some listings for large or heavy items will not be automatically included.
